SOUTH FLORIDA HUSKERS UPDATE (October 28, 2014):
Another great win by the Huskers and another Game Day approaching. The 16th ranked Huskers (7-1) will play Purdue at 3:30 pm on Saturday, November 1. For the second straight week, Nebraska will welcome an opponent to Memorial Stadium for the first time. The Huskers have twice traveled to Purdue, including last year’s 44-7 victory, however this will mark the Boilermakers’ first trip to Lincoln. The South Florida Huskers will be at Packy's Sports Pub in Lighthouse Point at 4480 N. Federal Highway watching the game.
If you plan to attend the watch party, please RSVP at email@example.com. We are trying to get a better count of how many Husker fans will attend for Packy's to plan wait staff accordingly.
We would like to thank Gary & Connie Gilbert, Thomas Platt, Dan Reynolds and Sally & Dave Zubero for donating socks at our last game for the St. Laurence Chapel for the homeless day shelter in Broward County. Our sock total has risen to 101 pairs!
We would also like to thank Chris & Christie Brink, Shelly Loos and Packy's for donating some wonderful items to the half-time raffle. Photos from previous watch parties have all been posted on our Facebook page.
For those interested, there will be a 2015 Husker Cruise, February 26 - March 2 leaving from Fort Lauderdale. Husker legends Matt Davison, Eric Crouch, Ahman Green, Steve Taylor and Greg Sharpe, voice of the Huskers will be on board. Also scheduled to appear is Jack Hoffman and family.
