SOUTH FLORIDA HUSKERS UPDATE (November 26, 2013):
Another solid showing of Husker fans at our new watch party location last Saturday at Packys Sports Pub in Lighthouse Point as we all watched our team win in OT! The owners of the new location are really trying to make us feel welcome, so, if there is anything that you would like to suggest, just let us know.
Nebraska concludes its 2013 regular season with Senior Day at Memorial Stadium on Friday, November 29th with kickoff in the annual Heroes Game with Iowa set for 12 pm. We will continue to do our half-time raffle and if you are running low on cash, we now have the service to take credit cards.
Special thanks to the Jim Burton for donating some raffle items last week and thanks to the Centorino family for bringing in a few pairs of socks for the 2013 fundraiser to help the homeless via the St. Laurence Chapel in Pompano Beach. Our total amount of socks donated has risen from 192 pairs to 198 pairs! Only one games left to donate, so, if you are coming to Friday's game, please bring in some socks!
Photos from the past couple of weeks have been posted on our Facebook page.

ALUMNI ASSOCIATION AWARD
The first week in October was the University of Nebraska Alumni Association's Chapter & Groups Leadership Conference in Lincoln, the South Florida Huskers were given a Corny, which is an award given to various alumni groups each year. The Corny we won was for the Award of Excellence in Communications for a small chapter. It was a nice honor among the chapters nominated!
Our half-time raffle raises money for our University of Nebraska Foundation South Florida Huskers Scholarship Fund. If you are interested in donating any items (gift cards, Nebraska memorabilia, etc.) please bring them with you to the next watch party.

2013 FUNDRAISER FOR SOUTH FLORIDA
We are going to tie in a fundraiser during the entire season of watch parties for the St. Laurence Chapel for the Homeless in Pompano Beach. We are asking our fans to bring in just one pair (or several) of white athletic socks to each game. The Chapel provides over 500 pairs of white socks to the homeless each month. We will just to try to do a small part to help with this worthy cause each week. Our weekly update has increased from 192 pairs to 198 pairs! Great job!
SCHOLARSHIP FUND DONATION--On Monday, February 11, 2013, The South Florida Huskers presented a $2,000 check to the University of Nebraska Foundation at CJ's Drafthouse for our annual gift to our scholarship fund! From the money we raised from donations from the past year for our raffles, t-shirt sales and other donations, we were able to give to the Foundation. We really appreciate everyone's continued support! If you are interested in making a personal donation to our designated fund, click on this link http://nufoundation.org - which will direct you to the University of Nebraska Foundation web site and then click Make a Gift and search funds for "South Florida Huskers" and the South Florida Huskers Scholarship Fund will appear.
