SOUTH FLORIDA HUSKERS UPDATE (April 24, 2013):
SOUTH FLORIDA BIG 10 HAPPY HOUR--The NU (Northwestern) Club of Southeast Florida will be hosting the next BIG 10 happy hour on Wednesday, June 5 at 5:30 pm at SoLita Delray, located at 25 NE Second Avenue, (1/2 block north of Atlantic Ave.). Drink specials include $3 beers, $5 wines and $5-$7 for top shelf cocktails along with appetizers. There is a free parking garage one block east. SCHOLARSHIP FUND DONATION--On Monday, February 11, The South Florida Huskers presented a $2,000 check to the University of Nebraska Foundation at CJ's Drafthouse for our annual gift to our scholarship fund! From the money we raised from donations from the past year for our raffles, t-shirt sales and other donations, we were able to give to the Foundation. We really appreciate everyone's continued support! If you are interested in making a personal donation to our designated fund, click on this link http://nufoundation.org - which will direct you to the University of Nebraska Foundation web site and then click Make a Gift and search funds for "South Florida Huskers" and the South Florida Huskers Scholarship Fund will appear. GBR!
FLORIDA RESIDENT JOINS NEBRASKA FOOTBALL--Fort Lauderdale's Cypress Bay cornerback, 6'2", 190 pound, Boaz Joseph signed up on February 6.
FLORIDA RESIDENT JOINS NEBRASKA TENNIS--The Nebraska mens tennis team picked up a scholarship signee for January of 2013, with the addition of Andrew Dzulynsky, from Miramar, Florida.
FLORIDA RESIDENT JOINS NEBRASKA GYMNASTICS--Antonio Castro joins NU from Pinecrest, Fla., and hopes to make an immediate impact on Nebraska's all around lineup.
NEBRASKA RED ZONE DISCOUNT--The Nebraska Red Zone has stepped up and is offering any Husker fan that uses this link - http://www.nebraskaredzone.com/southfloridahuskers to purchase Husker items, 10% will be donated back to our club. So, if you need some Husker items, check out the Nebraska Red Zone! GBR!

If any of you, or your friends, are interested in joining our board (you don't have to be a Nebraska alumni member), we would appreciate the support. We organize several events each year including the watch parties and we need your help to plan these events. We'd like to do more for our chapter and our community, but we need more people to make this happen. Please e-mail southflhuskers@gmail.com to let us know.
Besides the events we do, we will be having joint happy hours with other Big Ten schools each year. Announcements will be made periodically and posted on our Facebook page and website for the latest information.

WATCH PARTY LOCATIONS -- CJ’S DRAFTHOUSE 1825 W. Hillsboro Blvd, Deerfield Beach, FL 33442. CJ’s is located on the northwest corner of Hillsboro Blvd and Military Trail in Deerfield Beach. CJ's is also perfecting a new version of the cabbage roll for this fall's watch parties. CJ's has repainted the front glass in red and white colors and have added a large red "N" too. SOUTH FLORIDA HUSKERS T-SHIRTS!
The South Florida Huskers T-shirts are now available. These shirts are a higher quality than in past years and feel great! Shirts are $15 each. Where else can you find a Husker shirt with palm trees? The black shirts have a light white stitching around the sleeves and bottom. These shirts make great Husker gifts.
